Starboard Card is a white-glove expense management service, designed specifically for the super yacht industry. Starboard Card provides multi-currency, e-money accounts, supported by Visa Infinite debit cards.

As soon as a client has been onboarded, multiple account users may be issued two distinct VISA Infinite debit cards: one designated for yacht expenditures and another for advanced provisioning allowance (APA) disbursements. Transaction records are systematically logged within the client's account and can be accessed through our dedicated application or website.

Following each transaction, a push notification will prompt the user to capture an image of the corresponding receipt. This action can be immediately followed by the addition of supplementary information, or the categorization of the transaction under a charter, expense category or invoice.

Furthermore, users can generate instant reports at their convenience. For example, searches can be conducted for specific charters or date ranges. Generated reports can subsequently be exported as required.

Starboard Card typically takes 15 working days to create an account after receiving a completed application form.

The vessel is equipped to issue distinct physical and virtual cards, which may be linked to either the yacht's own financial resources or to funds designated by guests for a charter. These cards will be differentiated through variations in colour and lettering, facilitating the segregation of expenditures for each sub-account.

Furthermore, each card shall possess the functionality to operate with multiple currencies.

No, Starboard Card does not offer any credit facilities.

Yes, we are happy to partner with yacht management companies to provide a streamlined expense management solution, either directly for their fleet or on behalf of an individual vessel. Furthermore, the Owner or Account Administrator can designate a member of the yacht management company as an administrator with specialised access.

In addition to the operational and technological benefits available to all users of our premium Visa Infinite debit cards, we also offer 24/7 customer support.

Crew members will experience streamlined hotel and car rental booking processes through the availability of pre-authorisation functionality. This is complemented by an array of in-app functionalities such as user-specific card limits and transaction monitoring that can be segmented by expense category, department, or crew member, and other valuable features.

Yacht management companies will benefit from enhanced reporting capabilities directly from vessels, and export options compatible with QuickBooks and Xero. Furthermore, yacht management companies also benefit from the ability to hold full account admin privileges.

Our dedicated in-house technical team, responsible for the bespoke development of our applications, website, and internal infrastructure, employs sophisticated encryption protocols to ensure data protection during transmission. Regular updates to our system are implemented to guard against vulnerabilities, and secure access controls are enforced to restrict the viewing and handling of sensitive data. The team also conduct ongoing monitoring to detect and respond to any potential threats, and follows industry best practices to maintain a high level of security at all times.
